About Us
Proudly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA)
Small business accounts for between 97.4% and 98.4% of all businesses, depending on whether you define a small business based on a number of employees or turnover. Small business employs 41% of Australia’s workforce, making it the largest employer segment and contributes to over 32% of the total economy (Small Business Counts, December 2020 Report).
It is no exaggeration to say that when small business does it tough, so does Australia and regional areas away from their capitals and big cities even more so. In early 2019, North and Far North Queensland experienced a Monsoon Trough event that caused catastrophic damage and loss to communities from Townsville, north to the Torres Strait and west to Mount Isa. The long-term social and economic cost of the event is estimated by Deloitte Access Economics at $5.68 billion.
Among those hardest hit and who found it hardest to recover were the small businesses. While the immediate response and recovery period is for some in the past for, many there is an ongoing need to develop business resilience to respond to future challenges. The Queensland and Australian Governments have activated many programs to support resilience and recovery efforts. The Business Concierge Service is one of these programs proudly championed by the Queensland Small Business Recovery Centre jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
The Business Concierge Service offers the opportunity for eligible businesses to complete a business resilience and adaption plan with a Concierge Business Growth Specialist, as well as access to financial support packages of up to $2,500 to spend on personalised resilience building services from pre-approved business specialists.
The Business Concierge Service enables eligible small businesses to conveniently and simply access support services and funds to get on with the job of building better businesses for a more sustainable and resilient Queensland.
